Union Cross Town Center is an 85 acre mixed use lifestyle center located at the intersection of Union Cross Road and Interstate 40 in Kernersville, NC.  The development will include up to 300,000 square feet of retail and entertainment plus two hotels.

UCTC is privileged with great visibility along interstate 40.  3500 linear feet of the development will front and overlook the interstate providing maximum visibility for retail tenants.  The Development will have access from at least 3 different points, 2 along Union Cross Road and one at Kenosha Dr.  The main entrance will be a new signalized intersection where existing Solomon drive runs into Union Cross Road. North Carolina DOT has approved plans to expand the I-40 interchange and to widen Union Cross Rd. to 6 lanes in front of UCTC.  On December 6th 2005 the city approved the DOT resolution; construction will begin in 2008 and will be a design/build project to be completed in 2009.

Kernersville, NC (known as the heart of the triad) is home to several large businesses that have been responsible for the added residential growth of an already high growth market.  Dell Computers has opened their largest manufacturing facility in the US in Kernersville, and FedEx is scheduled to bring its east coast air cargo hub to the Kernersville area in 2008.  In addition, Honda aviation has announced that they will open a 300,000 square foot production and development plant for their new Honda jets in east Kernersville/west Greensboro.  These three new major facilities along with an influx of new office space have sprouted several new residential developments in the immediate vicinity of Union Cross Town Center.

In a two year period between 2004 and 2006 13,000 new housing units were constructed within a 5 mile radius of Union Cross Town Center and that number is projected to continue at an aggressive pace.  The UCTC development is adjacent to Caleb’s Creek, a 900 acre planned development that will be the future location of around 2,600 homes in the $300,000-$3,000,000 price range.  In the heart of the triad area, Kernersville is growing at a rapid pace and is hungry for new retail destinations.  The high income employees of the triad area are currently under served and having to commute to Winston Salem or Greensboro to meet their retail consumer needs.  With great visibility and optimal placement within the market Union Cross Town Center will be a well positioned mixed use project for this market.
